Alan Dale 'has last laugh on producer'

Alan Dale has claimed the last laugh on an unnamed TV producer who twice fired him from shows in Australia.

Dale played Jim Robinson in long-running soap Neighbours but left the show in 1993 after a conflict with programme bosses.

Since then, he has starred in a number of US TV shows, including The X-Files, Lost, The OC and 24, as well as performing in the recent Indiana Jones movie and other Hollywood blockbusters.

The Mirror quotes him as saying: "I have worked with people who are complete a***holes. I remember working with a producer when I was doing Young Doctors in Australia and he also happened to be a producer on Neighbours as well.

"He fired me from both shows and did it with a big smile on his smug face.

"But you know what, the last thing I heard he didn't have a job and my career has been completely rejuvenated, so who's laughing now?"

Dale stars alongside Kelly Brook in ITV double-header Renaissance/Moving Wallpaper, which starts tonight at 9pm.
