Kanye: 'Give Chris Brown a break'

Kanye West has given Chris Brown his support during a live show.

Speaking to a crowd while recording VH1's Storytellers, he asked: "Can't we give Chris a break? I know I make mistakes in life."

Brown was arrested earlier this month after an alleged altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, which reportedly left her with "horrific injuries".

The 'Heartless' singer earned rapturous applause when he later gave his support to two further famous faces.

"Michael Jackson, amazing. Michael Phelps, amazing. He's a real f***in' person," he said in reference to recent photographs that showed the sportsman smoking a marijuana bong.

Earlier this month, West admitted that he was "devastated" after hearing about Rihanna's injuries.
