The 52-year-old, who carried his best director Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire in a blue plastic bag, shared a lunchtime lemonade at St Mary's Catholic Social Club in Radcliffe, Bury, with his father Frank and twin sister Maria, says PA.
Boyle admitted that the gong had picked up a "bit of damage" from "taking it everywhere" and showing it to people, while his sister Maria said she cried when she first saw the trophy.
She said: "It's been a really emotional time. Certainly when he produced the Oscar and we saw it for the first time, a few tears come to your eyes because you can't quite believe it. It's such an iconic statue."
Club chairman Albert Waters added: "I think it's superb. He's done something no-one else around here has ever done."
Slumdog Millionaire picked up a total of eight Academy Awards, including best picture, best director for Boyle and best adapted screenplay for Simon Beaufoy.
