Jade Goody's husband Jack Tweed could face a prison sentence as a result of charges against him, it has emerged.

Taxi driver Stephen Wilkins told magistrates in Epping, Essex, that Tweed and three friends attacked him in the early hours of May 5 last year.

Wilkins said that a conflict arose after he informed the group that it was illegal for him to carry four passengers in the back seat of his cab.

He said: "Their response was 'just drive'. We carried on driving. I asked for the fare upfront. I was told to 'just drive'.

"The one sitting directly behind. He said 'just f***ing drive, you c***'. Very aggressive. That is when I actually thought to myself this is getting a little bit threatening now. That is when I decided I was going to turn around. I actually did a U-turn.

"I carried on driving back towards Epping. The guy behind me started screaming 'Where are you f***ing going?' I said 'back to Epping'. He said 'turning the f***ing car around', and grabbed me from behind. He got hold of me with his arm. Pulled his arm around my neck and held it against the headrest.

"He was leaning over me, over the back seat, with his face alongside my face screaming, 'I will stab you, you f***ing c***'. He leant forward and yanked the handbrake up. He was screaming in my face. He was so, so aggressive."

The prosecution claims that Tweed was the man who swore and carried out the alleged attack. He denies assault.

The 21-year-old, from of Buckhurst Hill, Essex, could face a prison sentence of six months if found guilty.
