The nine celebrities taking part in the Comic Relief trek have reportedly been struggling as they began a fourth day attempting to reach the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Radio 1 presenter Chris Moyles has been experiencing vertigo and Fearne Cotton is suffering from nose bleeds as she grows accustomed to the high altitudes.

Alesha Dixon is recovering after tumbling down a steep ledge while answering the call of nature, while Gary Barlow has been escorted on an easier short-cut after experiencing back pain following an injury last month.

Meanwhile, Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole admitted to being "shocked" after seeing a climber being carried down the mountain on a stretcher.

"He looked really scared. It shook us up," she said in a video blog.

"You feel strange at this altitude anyway. I started wondering if I was suffering too - but I'm alright and we've got each other to help us get through and hopefully get all the way to the top."

The stars taking part include Kimberley Walsh, Ronan Keating, Ben Shephard and Denise Van Outen.
