Winehouse charged with assault

Amy Winehouse has been charged with assault following allegations she attacked a fan last September.

The 'Back to Black' singer was forced to attend a police station on Thursday morning, where she was questioned and charged for the offence.

The star reportedly lashed out at a fan who wished to photograph her after a charity event performance in London last summer. She later collapsed, saying: "Life can't go on. I can't do this anymore."

Winehouse, who recently returned home from a two-month holiday in St. Lucia, is due to attend City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on March 17.
