Donovan: 'No regrets over Priscilla'

Jason Donovan has insisted that he does not regret knocking back a role in hit 1994 movie The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert.

The actor was reportedly in line to play Felicia in the Australian comedy, but the role was eventually filled by fellow Neighbours star Guy Pearce.

Donovan told thelondonpaper: "I elected to do something that seemed safer. A movie called Rough Diamonds which was... pretty rough.

"People ask me if I regret that. Not at all. You just move on."

Donovan is now preparing to appear in the stage production of Priscilla, where he has been cast in the lead role of Tick.

He said: "It's basically a feel-good musical about a bunch of guys who decide to take this wacky trip. To say it's camp is an understatement, but to say it's just a gay fest is wrong.

"It's a journey about life and people being what they want to be."
