M.I.A. denies naming her first born Ickitt

M.I.A. has denied reports that she has named her newborn son Ickitt.

The London-born Sri Lankan singer welcomed the baby last month, just days after she performed at the Grammy Awards.

While US reports suggested that the child had been given the unusual moniker, the 31-year-old wrote in a MySpace post that she is yet to come up with a name.

She stated: "My baby is not called Ickitt, Pickit, or Lickit, thank you very much to all the Hollywood press. He's a baby, he don't need press.

"I didn't release the baby name because I didn't think it was news but I will be back with something newsworthy soon. Til then, go pick on Apple, Satchel, and Moon Unit."
