Anthea Turner and her husband Grant Bovey have reportedly placed their £5 million alpine chalet on the market.

According to The Mail On Sunday, the couple have let the property go following last October's takeover of Bovey's buy-to-let property firm Imagine Homes. That was followed a few weeks later by the collapse of a sister furniture company, headed by 48-year-old Turner, called Imagine Furnishings.

Bovey, 47, referred to the sale of the six-bedroomed chalet in Megève in the French Alps as a "private matter". An agent at the firm dealing with the sale of the French property said: "The English owner has had many happy years there, but is keen for a swift sale."

Their £5 million home in Chiddingfold, Surrey, is also apparently on the market. Speaking of the couple's financial problems in December, Turner admitted: "Our backs are against the wall. We are in it like lots of other people bitten by economic circumstances.

"I can't remember the last time I slept properly because of the worry. I’ll be 50 in 18 months and I don't even know whether we can keep our home."
