Cole tops Tatler's 'best dressed' list

Cheryl Cole has become a style icon after topping a list of the "best dressed" women of 2009.

The Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge beat Elettra Rossellini and Caroline Sieber to the top spot in the annual Tatler listing, included in the magazine's April issue.

"The world has gone completely insane for our Cheryl," a Tatler spokesperson said.

Fourth place went to Georgia May Jagger, who was followed by Marie-Chantal of Greece in the fifth spot. Rounding off the top ten were Alice Dellal, Leigh Lezark, Natalie Portman, Claudia Schiffer and Emma Watson.

Kate Moss, last year's number two, failed to make the top ten.
