Woman caught in Goody's room with hammer

An unknown woman has been caught in Jade Goody's hospital room with a hammer in her possession.

The intruder, who is believed to be French and aged 41, woke up Goody by praying and chanting, The Sun reports.

Goody's publicist Max Clifford said: "Jade was obviously shocked. She started saying, 'Who are you? What are you doing here?'

"She called out for a nurse and when someone came the woman ran off."

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We arrested a woman who was in a patient's room and whose behaviour was flagged up by the hospital's security.

"After questioning her she was found to be in possession of an offensive weapon. She was arrested for possessing the weapon and taken into custody at a London police station for further questioning.

"She had not attempted to use the weapon."

Goody and her two sons were christened in hospital at the weekend because she was deemed too ill to return home for the ceremony.
