Midler 'distressed' by Winehouse plight

Bette Midler has admitted that she has been "distressed" by Amy Winehouse's recent problems.

The legendary singer claimed that Winehouse is wasting "tremendous talent" which she will come to regret in the future.

"I have to say that if she survives she's going to be really embarrased," she told Attitude.

"She could be making such beautiful music and inspiring so many people with her music. I find it very distressing.

"She has so many people who love her work and her, as a creative person, and as a creative light - everyone is hoping for the best.

"Everyone is hoping she'll be OK so she can make more music."
