Jones 'recorded charity song for Wales'
Tom Jones has admitted that he took part in the Comic Relief song 'Islands In The Stream' to help promote Welsh talent.

The singer revealed that he teamed up with Gavin & Stacey stars Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones for the record because it helped promote his native country.

"You have Coronation Street in Manchester, EastEnders in London, but there's nothing on TV about the Welsh," he told The Sun.

"I'm very proud to be a Welshman and although Gavin & Stacey is a comedy, it’s a step forward.

"You have Welsh actors like Catherine Zeta Jones and Anthony Hopkins but where TV shows are concerned, the Welsh are overlooked."

The charity record is currently on course to top the charts this Sunday.
