Vorderman quits firm amid property slump
Carol Vorderman has reportedly disassociated herself from the property firm she fronted after it was forced to start winding down.

The former Countdown mathematician and her agent attended a crunch meeting with executives at Carol Vorderman Overseas Homes last week, says the Mail On Sunday.

A representative for the firm insisted that it remained profitable, although it admitted that no new sales will be taken on under its current name and its website is due to be shut down "within days".

Vorderman, 48, made her final Countdown appearance in December, having earlier lost her contract with loans company FirstPlus when it closed down last July.

Speaking of the property company, Vorderman's representative John Miles said: "The business has not lost money and anyone who bought a property is completely safeguarded, but we are not prepared to have Carol's name put to any future development."
