Speaking on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show, Kennedy admitted that he was "more than in love" with the 30-year-old actress.
"We're more than dating, we're more than in love," he revealed.
"We have an intense relationship...Here's somebody that breathes life into you in a new way and makes you fuller, and that's what she does to me."
Referencing the vampire love story Twilight, Kennedy, 38, added: "She's my Bella. I want to bite her neck, but I want her to live."
Love Hewitt split from her fiancé, Scottish actor Ross McCall, in January after a three-year relationship.
