Tarrant arrested on suspicion of assault

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host Chris Tarrant has been arrested in relation to an alleged domestic incident at his home.

According to reports, the 62-year-old was arrested at his Esher, Surrey apartment yesterday morning, after an unidentified woman claimed that she had been assaulted at the property.

Speaking to The Sun, a police spokesperson said: "We can confirm a man in his early 60s was arrested in the early hours following a domestic dispute on suspicion of common assault."

He was reportedly questioned by officers at Staines Police Station, Middlesex, but was later released without charge.

Police have not revealed who called them to the scene.

Tarrant, who currently fronts ITV's The Colour Of Money, has yet to comment.
