The Rock admits to rollercoaster fear

Rex Features

Former WWE wrestler The Rock has admitted that he has a fear of rollercoasters.

The Scorpion King star said that he hated the feeling of being "strapped in" on theme park rides.

"It's a fear of getting strapped in, especially the bars," he told WENN. "I attempted to [go on a rollercoaster once], but the moment the bars clamp down and I feel it on my chest, that's the moment I can't breathe."

The actor, real name Dwayne Johnson, confessed that he was forced to miss out on rides during a trip to Disneyland with his Race To Witch Mountain co-stars because of the phobia.

"Everyone was there, the director, the kids," he said. "We were walking around the rides and we had a tour guide with us, and I pulled the guide to one side and was like, 'What kind of ride is this?' and he was like, 'Oh it's great, it's gonna go up and down and around', and I was like, 'Oh ok, I think I'll stay here'.

"The thing is everyone's waiting in line and they're like, 'Hey Dwayne, why aren't you getting on the ride?' and there were hundreds of people there. And I was on my BlackBerry [saying], 'I can't, very important Hollywood stuff here'."
