Cole sparks fake eyelash sales boom

Cheryl Cole has helped spark a significant increase in the sale of fake eyelashes, reports claim.

Sales of the fashion accessory have doubled over the past year and the Girls Aloud star has been credited with starting the trend.

"Cheryl Cole is doing for false eyelashes now what Dusty Springfield did for them in the '60s," Tesco health and beauty director Mark Tyldesley told The Sun.

"She's a modern icon so it's not surprising so many young women are influenced by her style."

Cole, who last week returned from a charity trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, recently topped Tatler magazine's best dressed list.
