Richardson 'critically injured in ski accident'

British actress Natasha Richardson has been hospitalised in Canada following a skiing accident.

The family of The Parent Trap star, who is married to Liam Neeson, have confirmed to the BBC that she was admitted to a Montreal hospital but have declined to give any further details.

According to unconfirmed reports from IrishCentral.com, which first broke the news, and People, the actress suffered a serious head injury at the Mont Tremblant resort in Quebec.

Access Hollywood has quoted a representative for Neeson's latest movie Chloe as telling Canadian Television that the Irish actor has halted filming to fly to his wife's bedside.

"Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife’s accident," said the spokesperson.

"We do not have any details at this time but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family."

Richardson, who is the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave, has previously starred in Maid In Manhattan, The Handmaid's Tale and several theatre productions.
