Lohan: 'Tabloid interest has hurt my career'

WENN

Lindsay Lohan has claimed that the "tabloid obsession" with her private life has damaged her career.

Speaking to Nylon, the actress admitted that the persona created for her by the media had limited the opportunities available in her work.

"The websites, the gossip pages, and all of that stuff have hurt my career - they’re like the Burn Books of Hollywood," she said, referring to her movie Mean Girls.

"But I really don’t feel like I should have to prove myself to anyone because of living out my college years in the public eye. I’m glad everything happened the way it did."

However, the 22-year-old hinted that she would not mind a change of career, saying: "I love doing photo shoots...I mean, if I could just sign with IMG and do ad campaigns and model more, I’d do that...because that’s fun for me. That’s not work."
