Lindsay Lohan has admitted that she finds it "scary" being unemployed in Hollywood.

Speaking to Nylon, the Mean Girls star confessed that she sometimes worries about how she will pay her mortgage when she is out of work.

"It's scary when you realise, 'Oh my God, I'm not working. And I have a house to pay for now'... and there's been some things I've really wanted to do," she said.

"Like the one movie I've wanted to do for so long is [Tim Burton's] Alice in Wonderland, but that didn't work out... it is what it is.

"[Producers said], 'You're not right for the part, and that's it'. That's how I like to hear it... I can take it, I'm a big girl. Obviously, you don't want me. I don't want to do something that somebody doesn't want me to be involved in anyway."

Previously, Lohan admitted that she would love to work with Knocked Up star Seth Rogen and is currently in talks with Oscar winner Sean Penn.
