Barton: 'Marriage is bad for relationships'

Mischa Barton has claimed that marriage can be bad for relationships because it puts too much pressure on the couple.

The former O.C. star has suggested that "people try harder until they're married", insisting that she is in no rush to walk down the aisle.

"You see a lot of relationships fall apart because it’s the last step. There’s nothing left and a lot of dudes freak out and the women become bitchier. I see it to be bad for relationships," ContactMusic quotes her as saying.

She added: "Whoever is going to be the father of my children, I’ll probably inevitably marry. But that’s not on the cards anytime soon."

The 22-year-old recently split from The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard, explaining that she had found it difficult to cope with a long-distance relationship.
