Clifford praises Tweed's 'great dignity'

Publicist Max Clifford has praised Jack Tweed for his "great dignity" during his late wife Jade Goody's cancer battle.

Clifford said that Tweed had been "completely devoted" to the reality TV star during her final days.

"The way that he has nursed her over the last couple of weeks did him great great credit," Clifford told This Morning.

"He was always there for her mopping her brow, cleaning her teeth, holding her hand and smiling whenever she woke up... which of course in the last few days was less and less."

He continued: "But for a 21-year-old to handle that the way he did, he's done himself proud. I was 60 when my wife [Elizabeth] died and I know how difficult it is to watch someone you love slowly fade away in front of you.

"But he handled that with great dignity and also compassion and its quite remarkable and a real tribute to the lad."

Tweed wed Goody last month at Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hertfordshire after proposing to her on Valentine's Day.

Meanwhile, Clifford also confirmed that Goody's trust fund for her sons Bobby and Freddie was "all in order" by the time she died at the weekend.
