Natasha Richardson laid to rest

Natasha Richardson has been laid to rest at a private funeral service attended by her family and friends.

The 45-year-old actress died last week after sustaining fatal head injuries while learning to ski in Quebec, Canada.

Her husband Liam Neeson was among the pallbearers at yesterday's service, which was held at St Peter's Episcopal Church in Lithgow, about 90 miles north of New York City.

The couple's sons Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12, attended the ceremony along with Richardson's mother Vanessa Redgrave and sister Joely Richardson, reports the BBC.

Actors Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman, Uma Thurman, Timothy Dalton and Laura Linney were also among the mourners.

Donations in lieu of flowers will go to the amfAR foundation for AIDS research, of which Richardson was a long-time supporter.
