Slater, Mellon rumoured to have split

Christian Slater and Tamara Mellon have reportedly split due to the pressures of maintaining a transatlantic relationship.

The Heathers star met Mellon when he was starring on London's West End in an adaptation of movie Swimming With Sharks in 2007.

Mellon, who is the founder of the Jimmy Choo designer shoe line, lives in London with her daughter Minty, while Slater lives in LA.

A source told the Daily Mail: "We all thought Tamara and Christian were made for each other, but the pressures of their respective careers meant they were spending too much time apart."

Slater, a reformed drug addict, said last year that he was happier with Mellon than he has ever been.
