Spector jury continues deliberations

The jury in the second Phil Spector murder trial returned to court today to continue its deliberations.

After both sides gave their concluding statements last week, the jury deliberated for over two-and-a-half hours on Thursday and almost four hours on Friday, but were given Monday and Tuesday off, the Contra Costa Times reports.

The prosecution has alleged that Spector shot dead actress Lana Clarkson at his home in 2003, but the defence argued that she died of a self-inflicted wound.

Spector's first murder case ended in a mistrial when the jury was deadlocked at 10-2 in favour of conviction.
