Madeley admits to past infidelities

Richard Madeley has reportedly admitted that he cheated on his first wife with about ten other women.

The 52-year-old presenter revealed on Piers Morgan's Life Stories that he was just 21 when he met Lynda, who he was married to for six years.

Among the women that he cheated with was his colleague Judy Finnigan, who went on to become his second wife and life-long love, reports The Mirror.

"I'd have to draw a veil over some of the reasons for it happening. I was very lonely and I think I clung to Lynda. We'd only lived together for a while and then we got married - I pushed for it - and then my dad died," he said.

"In any marriage that would have been a very bad start and it quickly became clear to both of us that we weren't suited at all and things started to fall apart. Although the marriage had some very happy moments, there was a lot of negativity in it. I'm not using that as an excuse. It's wrong to have affairs, but I was a very young man."

Madeley and Finnigan married in 1986 and have two children Jack, 23, and Chloe, 22. They now host Richard & Judy's New Position on Watch, although the chatshow is reportedly facing the axe due to falling viewing figures.
