Christian Slater may not be able to make his British stage debut as planned, after catching chicken pox.
Slater was expected to appear during the Edinburgh Festival, in a performance of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
However, after catching chicken pox from a fellow cast member, there are fears that Christian will not be able to star in the play as planned.
"Felix Dexter, a member of the cast, was struck down with chicken pox in the second week of rehearsal," producer Nica Burns explained.
"We had hoped that the rest of the cast had escaped it, but yesterday Christian was taken ill and it is confirmed today that he has it."
Rehearsals are still going on without Slater, but producers are hopeful that he will be better in time for the first performance on August 6th.
