Shetty 'homewrecker' claims withdrawn

The ex-wife of Shilpa Shetty's new partner has reportedly retracted claims that the Bollywood actress broke up her marriage.

Shetty was accused of "stealing" Raj Kundra in 2007 when his former partner Kavita gave a tell-all interview to a British tabloid.

Kundra has now announced that he has received a letter from Kavita which clears the Celebrity Big Brother winner of any involvement in the break-up.

In a statement, he explained: "The divorce happened last year. However, the case for the financial settlement was still going on. I was not ready to settle it outside court. I knew I could go ahead, get married and the case would still go on.

"But Kavita realised that it was pointless and she wanted an out of court settlement. I made it very clear that if she wanted an out of court settlement, she would have to give me in writing that Shilpa had nothing to do with the divorce."

A source told The Times Of India: "Shilpa and her family were shocked to find the media hold Shilpa responsible for Raj and Kavita's divorce. Shilpa was said to be a home breaker.

"Raj was very upset with his former wife using Shilpa's name to grab headlines and he wanted that to be cleared."

Shetty recently admitted that the allegations made her feel "physically ill".
