Comedian Lennie Bennett dies, aged 70

Comedian and TV host Lennie Bennett has died, aged 70.

The Lucky Ladders presenter failed to recover after a fall at his home in Thornton, near Blackpool.

Bennett - real name Mike Berry - was famed for partnering Jerry Stevens on the BBC's Lennie And Jerry Show. He also presented Punchlines and Celebrity Squares.

Blackpool-based comedian Frank Carson paid tribute to the star. He told the Blackpool Gazette: "Lennie was an absolutely wonderful fellow and we had lots of laughs together.

"He was a very funny comedian and a very good performer."
