Porn star Marilyn Chambers found dead

Porn star Marilyn Chambers has been found dead in her Los Angeles home.

The 56-year-old was discovered on Sunday by her 17-year-old daughter, according to Variety. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Chambers starred in 1972’s Behind The Green Door, one of the first porn movies to attract a mainstream audience.

The actress, who started life as Marilyn Briggs, began her career as a model for Ivory Snow but was fired when she began delving into hardcore films.

She was considered one of the first superstars in the industry and branched out into non-adult films with a role in David Cronenberg horror movie Rabid among others.

Her work in later years shifted to low-budget features and mature fare such as the upcoming Porndogs.
