Tweed 'has not requested protection'
Max Clifford has said that Jack Tweed has not asked for any special protection while he is in prison.

Jade Goody's widower has been placed in the hospital wing of Chelmsford prison, with earlier reports suggesting the decision had been made to protect him from other inmates.

Clifford told The Mirror: "He's being treated for what he's gone through. He is totally devastated.

"Any suggestion he has asked to be put in a special wing for protection is totally untrue."

The publicist added that Tweed is "very, very down".

Tweed was given a 12-week sentence after he was convicted of an attack on a taxi driver while on bail for a previous offence.
