Hartnett: 'Don't worry about my health'

Rex Features

Josh Hartnett has claimed that his recent hospitalisation with stomach pains was blown out of proportion by the media, insisting that there is "nothing to worry about".

The 30 Days Of Night star was taken by ambulance from Hollywood's Chateau Marmont Hotel to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre on March 29 after complaining of a recurring gastrointestinal problem.

Speaking to Us Weekly, he said: "I'm fine. I had a stomach bug, it was literally like a 24-hour thing. I was so dehydrated that I needed to be on a couple of IVs.

"[The media] made a huge deal about it because I left the Chateau Marmont... but that's where I always stay in LA...You know, they want to come up with whatever they want to come up with."

Hartnett, 30, admitted that the condition had been bothering him for several months, explaining: "It's because I've spent a lot of time in third world countries and I drink the water occasionally when I shouldn't, I shower.

"[It's] nothing to worry about! I'll be around for awhile!"
