The couple confirmed earlier this month that they are working towards a reconciliation following a year apart.
The 'Please Don't Leave Me' singer married Hart in Costa Rica in January 2006 and is reportedly organising a second beach-side service.
A source told The Sun: "They want to have a ceremony at their house in Malibu on the beach at sunset. It will take place in early summer and will be very simple and small, with just their family and a few close friends."
The insider blamed the couple's busy careers for the split but said that they had never stopped loving each other, adding: "They've always had a bond, but they needed time apart to realise that they wanted to continue their marriage."
