The Wall Of Sound producer was found guilty of the second degree murder of Lana Clarkson by a Los Angeles jury this week.
Clarkson died of a gunshot wound to the mouth at Spector's LA home in 2003 after meeting him at a nightclub hours earlier.
A spokesperson for the actress's relatives said in a statement: "The family is pleased that the jury rejected the distortion and trashing of Lana Clarkson's life which was a part of this trial, the past trial, and it's been going on now for six years.
"Actions have consequences; Mr Spector has to face the consequences of his acts. There's no joy here today - it's a tragedy."
Spector was first tried for the crime in September 2007, but a mistrial was ruled when the jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision. He will be sentenced on May 29.
