Jackman 'shocked' by tattoo tribute

Hugh Jackman has admitted that he was "shocked" over a zealous fan’s tattoo tribute.

The Australian actor was once taken aback when a waiter revealed his love for Jackman's Wolverine character, according to WENN.

The X-Men star was having a meal at an upscale New York restaurant when the server approached his table and stripped off his shirt to reveal a tattoo on his back in the likeness of the mutant superhero.

"He took his shirt off in the middle of the restaurant and I saw the guy's back was covered with a tattoo of my character, Wolverine," Jackman said.

He added: "I run into Wolverine groupies all over the place from convention-goers to custom officials."

X-Men Origins: Wolverine opens next month.
