Gibson returns to LA amid divorce news

Mel Gibson has been seen attending a church service in LA, reports say.

The Lethal Weapon star was spotted in California after spending last week in Costa Rica following the announcement of his impending divorce.

According to People, the actor attended 9am church services last Sunday in Malibu.

"He was drinking coffee with church guests and seemed very relaxed," a church-goer said.

Gibson also mingled with other members of the congregation for an hour after Mass.

The actor/director had sought refuge at his rambling Costa Rica estate the previous week, where he was seen with a man in his 20s, a blonde woman and a young boy, a witness said.

He left the Central American country on Saturday and is said to have spent $500 on souvenirs during his stay.
