The Hell's Kitchen presenter claimed that she was forced to focus on improving her recipes once she started having a family.
"I used to live on those delicious prawn flavoured noodles and then I had the little people [children Jake and Matilda] and I thought it would be wrong to give them just Pot Noodles," she told Heat.
"So then I learned how to make all kinds of stuff, but I'm still a bit rubbish and my kitchen is disgusting."
The 37-year-old, who is the daughter of journalist Eve Pollard, went on to claim that a kitchen refurbishment would encourage her to try new recipes.
"It's miniature and it's basically a kitchen for Borrowers. It's made of faux wood and all the doors are falling off," she said.
"I think if I had a great kitchen I'd hang in there all day, baking...This one I'm like, 'Urgh, this place is revolting. Hello mouse or something else revolting in the corner.'"
Hell's Kitchen airs Mondays on ITV1 at 9pm.
