GaGa defends 'storm over tea cup'

Lady GaGa has blasted The Sun for insinuating that she was a diva.

The newspaper yesterday claimed that the singer threw a strop when she lost her tea cup and ordered a taxi to collect it from her hotel.

Speaking to IN:DEMAND on Manchester's Key103 radio station, the 'Poker Face' star defended her decision, claiming that she was being environmentally conscious.

"I drink a lot of tea, instead of drinking out of paper all the time or eating out of takeout boxes I ask for china. At least I'm not wasteful," she said.

"They made me look like such a diva in The Sun becuase I asked to get my tea cup back, but wouldn't it be so ridiculous if I'd said, 'Oh forget the tea cup, I'll get a new one.'"

The 23-year old went on to claim that she was considering retiring the tea cup because of its cult popularity.

"My tea cup is so famous, I yelled at her today, I said, 'You're stealing my thunder, go to bed!" she revealed.

"I like to take it everywhere because it makes me feel at home and now it's become a celebrity. I almost want to keep her at home because now it's a gimmick."
