The pair appear together in the Easter Disney blockbuster, which had its UK premiere in London last night.
Thousands of fans attended Leicester Square for the film's debut, which was attended by the father and daughter acting duo.
Billy Ray told PA: "I'm very proud of Miley. I'm proud of the film. We've got a great cast, a great crew... the fans that are here have been amazing. To see this type of support really makes it worthwhile."
The film follows Miley's alter ego returning home to Tennessee to escape her ever-increasing fame. "Getting back to Tennessee, getting back to our roots, it's kind of the heart and soul of the film," Billy Ray added.
