Stephen Fry lost four stone in six months by taking brisk daily walks while listening to James Bond audio books.

The actor and presenter weighed 20 stone last September but has now managed to bring his weight down to 16 stone.

Fry, who plays Dr. Gordon Gordon in Bones, told Hello that shifting the pounds was down to common sense. "There's no great secret - it's a question of eating less.

"That, and going for a brisk walk every day listening to Rufus Sewell reading the James Bond audio books on my headset. The Bond books are read at just the right pace to help me walk faster."

Earlier this week, a MySpace survey named Fry as a popular replacement for St George as England's patron saint.
