Barton wants Shakespearean role

Mischa Barton has revealed that she would like to play a role in a Shakespeare play, according to reports.

The O.C. star has enrolled in courses on the famed playwright to help improve her chances to land a part, says WENN.

The actress said that she has decided to forgo her pursuit of film work to focus on a career in theatre and that securing a role in one of Shakespeare’s works is now her top priority.

"I recently did a Shakespeare course because they don't teach Shakespeare properly in American schools," she said. "But I suppose as with any play it is about finding the right cast and actors and script for you."
