Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle auditioned for Michael Barrymore's '90s show My Kind Of People, but was rejected by producers, say reports.
Boyle apparently performed 'I Don't Know How To Love Him' from Jesus Christ Superstar at the Olympia Shopping Centre in East Kilbride in 1995, but the audition was never televised.
According to Elizabeth MacKean, whose daughter filmed the performance on a camcorder, the 47-year-old star was mocked by Barrymore as she attempted to sing.
"Susan was a few people in front of me," MacKean told The Mirror. "When she began to sing, I knew she had a great voice but Michael Barrymore was taking the mickey out of her.
"This was mine and Susan's second audition for My Kind of People. When I saw her on Britain's Got Talent, I couldn't believe it was the same Susan. I was gobsmacked and I had my hand up to my mouth."
MacKean added: "I am a pub and club singer and I have entered other talent contests but I have not got a jealous bone in my body. I'm absolutely delighted for Susan. She is a very sincere and down-to-earth person and after all this time it looks like she’s finally going to make it."
