Mel Gibson walks red carpet with new love

Mel Gibson has made his first public appearance with new love Oksana Grigorieva, attending a screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in Los Angeles last night.

The Passion Of The Christ star and Grigorieva, a Russian singer signed to his record label Icon, held hands as they walked the red carpet outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre, reports People.

"Mel has been single for almost three years and it's nice to see him getting out and enjoying himself," said a representative for the actor.

According to an unnamed source, the couple "came in quietly and as under the radar as they could and they were pretty low-key".

The insider added that Gibson had chosen to attend the screening because of his close friendship with producer Richard Donner, who directed his Lethal Weapon franchise.

Earlier this month, Gibson's wife Robyn filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences". The couple, who separated in 2006, were married for 28 years and share seven children.
