Applegate has 'new lease of life'

Christina Applegate has revealed that she has a new lease of life following her bout with breast cancer.

According to People, her battle with the disease has given her a new appreciation for what life has to offer.

The Samantha Who? star, 37, graced the cover of the publication’s '100 Most Beautiful' issue and said that her cancer battle left her with a feeling of purpose.

Talking about last year's double mastectomy, she said: "You have to get through the physical transformations then buck up, go to work and try to be the normal, happy Christina for everyone around you."

The actress credited boyfriend Martyn Lenoble as a source of strength.

"I'm very grateful to Martyn for coming along at a time that he did because he's been my rock through all of this," she said. "He gave me something to really want to live for and something to smile about."
