Kirk Douglas recovering from broken foot

Kirk Douglas has revealed that he is recovering at home after breaking his foot in a fall.

Writing on his MySpace page, the 92-year-old admitted that he suffered the injury after getting up from a chair and stumbling against a wall.

"My foot was painful but I thought it would go away. The next day it got worse and my wife made me see a doctor," he explained.

"I was surprised to learn that I broke a bone in my foot and now I have to wear a heavy boot for a month!"

Son Michael, 64, recently admitted that he is recuperating after undergoing knee replacement surgery four weeks ago.

Speaking about his father's reaction on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, he said: "I go see him and he said, 'How you doing?' and I said, 'Pretty good dad', and he goes, 'You know, when I had my double knee replacement, I was 88!'"
