Sergei Priporin, 36, filed a lawsuit against the musician for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He was originally seeking $4 million from DMX, All Hip Hop reports.
In June 2004, Priporin claimed that the rapper used a police light and siren to force him to pull over in a parking lot at New York's JFK International Airport. He alleged that when he pulled over, DMX - real name Earl Simmons - said that he was an FBI agent and tried to forcibly remove him from the car.
Simmons was later arrested by police and forced to surrender his car and pay a fine.
DMX's attorney said that he "readily admits" to impersonating an FBI agent, but denies "striking" Priporin or "trying to pull him out of the car".
The attorney added that Simmons was using the light and siren because he was late for a flight.
