'Lethal Weapon' star arrested

Danny Glover, appearing in The Cookout this year, was arrested outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington yesterday whilst protesting about the crisis in Sudan and calling for peacekeeping forces to quell violence.
According to the US Secret Service, the star was later charged with unlawful assembly and disorderly conduct.
Glover is not alone in his opinions of the need to put pressure on the Sudanese government - the UN calls the current situation in Sudan (50,000 dead; 1.2 million homeless) as the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. The attacks are made by pro-government Arab militias.
The star is not new to political controversy, having previously publicly criticised US policies regarding Iraq and Cuba. The statement he and 159 other people signed stated that the invasion of Iraq was unjustified and unprovoked, and that there was a "strong campaign of destabilisation" against Cuba that could be used as a "pretext for invasion."
