Tess Daly shocked by Lampard's ex

Tess Daly has rubbished claims that Frank Lampard's ex-girlfriend will struggle to find a new man following her split from the footballer.

In a recent newspaper interview discussing life without the Chelsea player, 34-year-old Elen Rive suggested that it was "too late" to start afresh.

However, writing in her column for The Mirror, TV host Daly explained: "I was dismayed to read that Frank Lampard's ex Elen Rives thinks she's over the hill at 34.

"It's obviously a tough time for Elen, but all she has to do is look around at the many women a lot older than her who are more successful than they've ever been and look fantastic too. In my book it's never too late to look and feel great."

She added: "The right attitude goes a long way to boosting your looks. I think 46-year-old Elle Macpherson got it spot on when asked recently what the perfect age is and she replied: 'The age you are right now'."

Daly, 38, is currently expecting her second child with husband Vernon Kay.
