The comedian-turned-DJ put his hair on eBay after having it cut in the Absolute Radio studios.
His fellow DJ Jo Russell helped auction it off in order to raise money for children's charity Childline.
In a thank you letter, Skinner said: "I can't believe you bought my hair. Brilliant. It would be a fun time-killer to separate the grey from the brown, like doing a jigsaw."
Last month, it was announced that Skinner is to guest host on Have I Got News For You.
